Last night I tried to update my apps from my phone, usually the little ones I can, but I know the big ones I usually have to log on to itunes and update…when I started I had 9 apps to update, I updated 3 that were small, it went through its regular stuff, asked me for my password, then I saw it loading and installing on the little app icons…well after that my phone started acting weird, lagging and just being "buggy", so I rebooted it, and when it came back on it said I have 9 app updates! I should have only had 6 because of the 3 I updated, but when I looked on the update screen, they were back on there saying they needed an update!
So today I’ve been using my phone all day, but a minute ago, it showed I had about 4 bars of service and it was connected to my wifi but it wouldn’t send a text! I kept trying to send it, and it wouldn’t, then all of a sudden it says searching for service! I don’t usually have problems with my service at all, especially when I’m not moving, I’m sitting in the same place…
Next problem…I thought that maybe I needed to hook my phone up to iTunes, thought maybe that would help, well, as iTunes was loading I get an error msg saying it couldn’t connect and it timed out…I made sure I was connected to the internet, made sure there was nothing going on weird with my modem…nothing was wrong…well, everything seems to be working fine…but now my sons iPod is acting glitchy!!! WTF is going on!! Am I just having really bad luck with technology today!!!
Just a side note: about a week ago I downloaded the IMDB app, and thats about when I noticed the lagging start…anyone know if this could be it? And if so, could taking it off help, or is the damage done? I read reviews before I load anything and there weren’t many bad ones
You mentioned wifi, modem and WTF. lol. I don’t know you but I have a very similar temper when I pay good money, it is suppose to just freakin work. Fortunately, I have a friend who is an Apple guru, he calls himself my personal tech. When I had similar problems on the airport wireless, it needed to be reset. If you take a ball point pen and stick it in the hole/button and hold it their for five seconds then it will reset. I couldn’t tell if you have a modem, or hardwire, if so, sometimes they need to be shut off for 3-5 minutes and then everything reset. That is the best I can tell you based on your choice of words. It sounds like a network related issue instead of equipment.
The other notable mention is traffic. Increasingly their is congestion, if you notice phones are going from 3g to 4g. Recently, a carrier stated they were going to restructure their packages to discourage such high use with people who have smartphones. They say smartphones are taking as much as 60-70% of the room on the network, pushing out other customers, I believe it was AT&T. If you are having a problem, it could also be related to the carrier. I can’t answer the WTF.
May you have the happiest of holidays.
